I don’t see technology just as a technical challenge, but as a powerful way to uplift others and solve human problems.
Kamil: What has been the most challenging moment in your journey so far, a moment of doubt, fear, or pressure, and what helped you move forward? Millena: The most challenging period of my journey was moving to the U.S. to study Computer Science and Finance at The Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania. Balancing the intense demands of an Ivy League education while trying to maintain my work with AI democratization in Brazil was incredibly taxing. Navigating those competing pressures required a lot of resilience, but it also reinforced my commitment to my mission. Kamil: L ooking ahead 10 years, what kind of impact do you want your work to have on the world? What problem are you most determined to solve? Millena: Ten years from now, I want to be recognized as a leading voice in AI safety and democratization. My goal is to change the narrative around AI so it is less about “privilege” and more about “resource accessibility.” I am determined to solve the problem of tech inequality by teaching people how to use these tools safely and effectively to better their lives. Kamil: How did you feel becoming one of the youngest talents recognized in Forbes 30 Under 30? Did it give you more power — or more pressure? How did that recognition change your perspective? Millena: Being recognized as one of the youngest talents on that list was a moment of immense gratitude, but it certainly brought both more power and more pressure. It changed my perspective on leadership; I initially expected such a high-profile group to be exclusive or closed-off, but I found an incredible, global community of people who are genuinely eager to help one another. Kamil: You seem to operate with remarkable energy and drive while leading multiple projects at a young age. Can you share your personal philosophy and the habits or mindset that help you sustain that level of focus and motivation? Millena: I just like to believe that my way to contribute to society and the world is through my work, so I do my best in all that I propose myself to do.
